Wow, caught in the act is right. It looks like an expression of surprise on her face as she's looking over her shoulder to find she's being watched.
And that bee looks plenty meaty underneath that fuzzy exterior.
That photo was taken yesterday. This evening as I was going to my car she was devouring another one that was again lured in by the daisy-like flowers on which she patiently waited. I don't know what the wildflower is but every fall the mantids seak them out as most others are bloomed out. That makes them a favorite flower of mine too! ;0)

These flowers are wild asters (what particular species I cannot say though)
Talk about weird... just 10 minutes ago I was looking through my flower books looking for it! Thank you.... now I can narrow the search ;0)
