the flower is SEDUM is it not?
Yes. Don't know the varity but it is large. This particular plant was given me by my Grandmother. She showed me how to take the largest leaf from the plant, rub it gently between the fingers to separate the outer layer without tearing but still leaving it intact..... then put the stem part in your mouth to blow it up as a balloon. A little tricky but with practice can be done. Just a silly thing shared with a grandchild ;0)

Foxfire series of books out of north Georgia sure helps preserve a lot of the lore and wisdom of past times. I would like to own the series
Yes, the sedum starts out pale but toward the very end of bloom it darkens as the flowers fade. That's when the bees, etc. stop visiting ;0 Still pretty though even when dry.
I'll have to check out the Foxfire books. Sounds interesting. Thanks.
A newly emerged butterfly is to the insect kingdom as the first rose of spring is to the plant kingdom. So perfect and beautiful!
