You've captured a wonderful expression--sort of mona lisa-like, eyes that follow you around a room.
And those eyes did just that. Isn't she beautiful? ;0) This one let her personality show as she was quite feisty... but guess nervousness can come from being so slow moving, vulnerable as her eggs had not yet been laid.
I am so amazed that this face is a natural and not made up as in photo shop and such... yes, such a personality showing forth!
I wish I did have Photoshop as I could sure use it to plan some of my paintings. Nope... not used on my photos.
About eyes on mantids - In the very last days of their lives I have noticed that they actually darken. Like people guess old age gets to the eyes of insects too ;0(
:-) I know your images are untouched and natural as nature and as lovely as is this world
that is so interesting the observation that the eyes darken
Also interesting (but on the bad side)-- that I have not
:-<
come across any mantid egg cases ... and as much as I have been out and weeding and observing! what is going on!
